Using the Enjin Platform and ERC-1155 token standard, Ruined Canvas also plans to host user-generated blockchain items in the free-to-play game. Today, Ruined Canvas publicly launched their Alpha for HEX World, a competitive free-to-play multiplayer strategy game featuring blockchain-based worlds. With its initial public release showcasing “homeworlds” where players will be able to gather items and battle each other, HEX World will also soon feature user-generated blockchain-powered items. Ruined Canvas will utilize the Enjin Platform to integrate blockchain-powered assets into their games and enable players to travel through multiple worlds in the HEX World galaxy, amassing powerful runes wherever they go. Players can then use their collected runes to craft runebooks, characters, or entirely new worlds.
Because each world is generated from a 32-byte Ethereum token ID, every single HEX World landscape is completely unique, and a nearly infinite number of worlds can exist. Players can own entire worlds and all of the items within them, making for an interesting take on the blockchain’s promise of real-world ownership. In the game’s upcoming Beta release, players will be able to move through multiple worlds and galaxies, both of which are actually ERC-1155 tokens backed by Enjin Coin (ENJ). Each galaxy will contain 32 “Genesis Relics”—seeds the galaxy was created from—to be found by players exploring the realm. Players who hold these relics will ultimately determine the fate of the galaxy, with the power to decide how items, worlds, and other ENJ-backed rewards will be distributed among the players within it. Ruined Canvas is designing HEX World to feature four different forms of gameplay: crafting, exploring, battling, and trading. Users will be able to craft, explore, and battle in their own worlds, as well as the worlds of others. Ruined Canvas is also creating “Market Worlds” where users can meet peacefully, engage, and trade in a community setting. In HEX World, players are called Geomancers, the most powerful of which wield the most potent spells, called “hexes,” which can be found, purchased, traded, or crafted. There are exactly as many hexes as there are possible Ethereum IDs—that's 2^256, so effectively an infinite number. Every hex will be completely unique, providing each player an inventory that no other player can possibly duplicate. Dragons will be popular companions within HEX World, with players able to breed, train, battle, and travel with their powerful pets through the HEX World galaxy. Each dragon also has a rune associated with it, meaning every dragon will have completely unique abilities. To make the HEX World experience easier for gamers who are less familiar with blockchain technology, Ruined Canvas is enabling players to gather, own, and create items that will be initially stored within the gaming server in the same way as normal gaming items. Once players have set up their secure blockchain vault via the Enjin Wallet, they can then select the option to “ascend” their items to the blockchain, enabling them to own the items forever, trade them freely, use them in multiple games, and even sell them for a profit. Ruined Canvas will release an array of ascendant HEX World assets, including items, characters, and worlds. These items will be tradable within Market Worlds in the HEX World galaxy, as well as through third-party marketplaces and peer-to-peer transactions. To celebrate the launch of HEX World Alpha, Ruined Canvas is creating 600 HEX World Founders Tokens to distribute to the first 600 people who join and register through their Discord Channel.
