Interview with Ether.Online COO

1. When did you first start with Cryptocurrency/Blockchain Technology?

We have been developing and publishing browser and mobile games for over 10 years with successful titles like wartune, clicker heroes, and Greedy Cave. We first came across blockchain technology when bitcoin started becoming more popular. Although cryptocurrencies has it’s ups and downs, we realized that the underlying technology “blockchain” will change the future of gaming.

2. Why blockchain technology is needed in the gaming world?

The most obvious way that blockchain will help the gaming world is through using cryptocurrency to rewards players for achievements. User’s will be willing to spend more time to reach different achievements. But we must not forget that blockchain is much more than just a cryptocurrency.

Freedom to Participate

RPGs allow players to form a team or group to accomplish different quests. Blockchain can transfer your time and energy into monetary value, for example allowing GMs to be compensated for their time and leadership.

Blockchain will also give users the freedom of interacting with other users without an intermediary such as the game developer or online host, creating a frictionless alternative for in-game transactions.


Freedom to Earn

With the rise of e-sports more and more users are turning to gaming as a form of income. With blockchain and cryptocurrency, users can build a whole career through gaming and earn through wagers, tournaments, achievements and much more.


Create like never before

For those who still play World of Warcraft, wouldn’t it be great if you can create your own quests, tie-in achievements to the quests, accept fees for the hours of sweat you put in? This is where blockchain comes into play, allowing players to become a part of the development team.

3. When did you started Ether.Online?

We started planning Ether.Online shortly after the new years, and really began developing in February 2018.



4. How would you describe Ether.Online?

Coming across cryptocountries and cryptokitties, although successful we were thrown off when we realized that these so called “games” have no game mechanics within. We really wanted to show the world that such dapps like cryptokitties fails to show the potential of developing or playing games on the blockchain.
Ether Online strikes a balance between those who are new to the blockchain , and for those who are already veterans. For those who are new, Ether.online will give you a chance to understand the concept of the blockchain world, and how transactions happen on the Ethereum Network. For blockchain veterans, breeding kitties is not exciting. Ether.online will include game mechanics that are missing from current blockchain games such as crafting system, PvP system, Seasonal Arenas and much more. But most importantly, everyone will have a chance to profit from Ether.Online through arenas and pvp battles, giving users a true sense of how blockchain will change the gaming world.


5. What Ether.Online will contribute to the Crypto Game industry?

Being a team filled with game industry veterans, we hope that Ether.Online will allow those in the crypto game industry to understand that games on the blockchain is much more
just breeding cute kitties (which we do not consider a game at all), and by harnessing blockchain technology developers and players can collaborate to create a never ending world where the sky is the limit.


6. Are you planning an alpha test?

Yes, we will have an alpha test soon. Keep posted.


7. What's the newest update to your game?

We just launched our Pet Presale and already reached 30000 registered users! Currently there are 5 pets for sale, which will not be available once sold out. The only way to obtain them after they sell out will be through the marketplace. These pets are of Legendary grade, and will greatly increase a character’s Battle Rating (a number that signifies a player’s strength). Don’t miss your chance!

8. When is the full release of the game?

We are aiming to have a full release by June 4th, 2018


9. What are Ether.online future plans?

We have lots of goodies and upgrades planned for the future including mounts, artifacts, guilds, world boss, and much more! Stay tunedJ


10. On which ETH platform is your game built on?

Our game is built on the Ethereum network using ERC721 tokens.
