● Enjin Beam is the world’s first scan-and-receive QR code-based item distribution system for cryptocurrencies and blockchain items
● QR code feature to accelerate mass adoption of blockchain technology across all sectors

Enjin has launched a new QR airdrop feature update to the Enjin Wallet, making it the world’s first mobile cryptocurrency wallet that enables users to redeem blockchain items by scanning a QR code. Referred to as “Enjin Beam,” the new feature will further extend the Enjin Wallet’s functionality as a tool that can infuse blockchain technology into the everyday lives of its users.
The process is simple: by scanning a QR code created by Enjin, users can redeem digital assets directly into their Enjin Wallet app. For item distributors, the QR airdrop system can be set up in two ways (either fixed or random) to determine the method of item distribution. For both methods, the QR code creator must identify item types, a blockchain address from which items will be distributed, and the number of times the QR code can be redeemed per wallet, among other versatile parameters.
“We’re very excited about the latest QR code feature, as it will bring a new level of accessibility to blockchain items,” said Enjin CEO Maxim Blagov. “Enjin Beam will reduce existing barriers to blockchain technology, enabling any company, association, or group to create QR codes and offer blockchain-based items, such as collectibles and discount vouchers, to their users. This universal feature will boost mass adoption of blockchain technology.”

To celebrate the launch, Enjin is hosting a giveaway for Enjin Wallet users, with 3,674 prizes backed by 146,350 Enjin Coin (ENJ). Anyone who scans the giveaway QR code with the Enjin Wallet will instantly see the full list of prizes available, along with the odds of winning each item. Upon scanning and claiming an item, the user's wallet address is automatically passed to the sender’s wallet, and the item is distributed to the user.
Enjin Beam is also a fully functioning QR scanner that can be used to scan Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin payments, as well as codes tied to weblinks. To ensure users can only redeem the number of prizes specified by the QR creator, the feature includes SMS verification. All sensitive information is obfuscated using cryptographic hash functions in order to protect users’ information and privacy.
One of the first Enjin Beam use cases, Altcoin Buzz will be utilizing the technology to engage and provide added value to their community. The successful community-led crypto and blockchain media source will be collaborating with artists to create exclusive collectibles for their audience, which will be offered via QR codes posted in videos, social media posts, and within Altcoin Buzz community channels. This will ensure that the most dedicated Altcoin Buzz supporters reap the rewards.
Another interesting use case, online art retailer Bronze Bond Studios and fashion retailers O’Kill and Swagpie Apparel will create blockchain-based certificates of authenticity and send QR codes to their customers for easy delivery of the tokenized certificates. Swagpie Apparel sales staff will walk each customer through the simple QR code scanning process, all while processing their payment.

In the gaming space, a number of developers have plans to utilize this technology to deliver gaming items to their communities. 9Lives Arena, which recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign, will use Enjin Beam to send Kickstarter backers the items they purchased in the campaign. Lucille Games, the studio behind War of Crypto, has plans to create a giveaway for their PokéFind Minecraft server and War of Crypto supporters to galvanize their following and boost engagement across both communities. Cats in Mechs and Forest Knight have also signed on to use Enjin Beam to distribute items and gamify the experience within their Telegram groups.
This QR airdrop feature is expected to create many other new use cases across gaming, retail, and brand building. For example, companies will be able to use it for marketing and advertising purposes by rewarding their users with discount coupons, unique collectible items, tokenized prizes, and other rewards—all on the blockchain and delivered directly into their users’ Enjin Wallets with the quick scan of a QR code.
The QR code can be placed anywhere that is visually accessible, providing a broad range of potential options and uses. The feature can be utilized to provide sentimental mementos, so users can scan a QR code at their favorite restaurants, events, or locations to receive souvenir blockchain items. They can also be sent via email, social media channels, and online videos, as well as real-life locations in the form of stickers, posters, or brochures.
The QR airdrop system will support both ERC-1155 and ERC-20 tokens. Those interested in utilizing this technology should contact the Enjin team. Users can also create their very own ERC-1155 blockchain items by submitting an order through the Enjin Mintshop at https://mint.enjincoin.io
