Enjin, a popular gaming network that’s been around for 9 years, will soon upgrade their Minecraft plugin to support ERC-1155 in-game items. So far, the Minecraft plugin called “Donationcraft” has been downloaded more 5 million times.
Minecraft SDK — Powering Blocky Worlds With Blockchain Technology

All server operators currently running the plugin will be able to create blockchain items and place them within their Minecraft Servers.

Minecraft is a diverse landscape that contains vast ecosystems of gameplay. All of which have a life of their own. All of which have completely different needs. To create a blockchain-based solution for this digital metaverse, that enables all the functions of normal in-game items, Enjin had to build a robust suite of smart contracts and an ecosystem of platforms to support it.

When this ecosystem is complete, Minecraft servers will be able to use Enjin’s development platform to create ERC-1155 in-game items, users will be able to hold these items in Minecraft servers and the Enjin Smart Wallet simultaneously, and they will also be able to browse and authenticate items using EnjinX.

All Enjin SDK functionalities can be operated from the console — everything from linking and unlinking wallets to checking your inventory and balances.
The smart contracts running on Ethereum’s blockchain enable nuanced gameplay mechanics to be applied to ERC-1155 tokens. Using Enjin’s smart contract developers can choose to create bound tokens that can’t be traded, whitelisted addresses that block trading from occurring within unapproved platforms, consumable tokens, compoundable tokens, and tokens that can be rented and loaned. This is the only robust blockchain development platform that provides modular smart contracts that can be used to create advanced tokens without typing a line of code.
Enjin will provide a user interface for these functions as well — the end result being that gamers will be able to facilitate item transactions and see their Enjin Wallet inventory right inside of Minecraft.
Enjin built the console-command feature first for a good reason — to enable Minecraft server operators to create custom user interfaces, to match the UI style with their server’s branding, for example.
