Why we think the blockchain technology is the future of gaming

The gaming industry has seen many changes in the last years. Mobile has taken it by storm and the demand for premium games has become a niche. The current leading model is f2p- Free to play games with Instant App Purchase(IAP) this model is the current leading model on any platform. Games like Fortnite and Heartstone are currently leading the industry with the biggest user base and they have the biggest grossing in profit.

Unlike premium games, they are not story driven and they can be played forever. These games already have their own currency which you can earn in game and use it to play matches. Wether you buy it or earn it in game it is a currency and this is where we think the blockchain technology is about to take the gaming world by storm. Imagine playing an Hearthstone match and taking your gold you just earned to Fortnite and buy cosmetics, than take the tokens you earned in Fortnite and use it in your favorite RPG or even use it directly on Steam to buy a premium game. This is where we think the industry is going.

What’s a better use for Internet money than gaming?

Games had their own currency since the beginning and even in classic games like Super Mario and Sonic one of your goals was to earn gold. The only thing that missing is a way to connect the games and this is where blockchain will revolutionise everything we know.

Company’s like Microsoft and Nintendo are already putting huge effort in exploring the blockchain field and even if each company will have their own token we will be able to exchange them and this will take the Gaming experience to the next level. Everything will be connected.

This utopian future is no longer a dream. The ESports industry is currently valued for $1.5 Billion dollars and current player base is estimated for over 2.2 Billion. Those numbers are amazing and are growing as we speak. Professional gamers are already earning millions in competitions but what about the casual gamers?
